2016-2022 Mazda CX-9 Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

Hey yo, what’s up, guys! Hope y’all have a great day. Today we have a 2017 Mazda CX-9, and I’m going to be showing you how to reset your oil change light or service minder on this vehicle.

By the way, this will work on CX7 and CX5 and a few other mods in the model. There are two types of warning the oil change due and also the regular service light. So here’s a look at everything you will need to do to complete the job.

2016-2022 Mazda CX-9 Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

For your info, this operation work for the second generation of the Mazda CX-9 (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).

With Cluster Button

Start with turn the ignition off
Then have to hold the RESET button on the dash and then press the START button twice without pressing the brake pedal

Keep on holding in for seven seconds and it will reset your oil change light

With Navigation Display

Time needed: 3 minutes

So here we have a 2016 Mazda CX-9 in for regular oil change, and here’s how you do the oil reset first. So the first thing we’re going to have to do is:

Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
First, press the START button twice without start the car so that therefore you don’t press the brakes at all
Push the HOME button
Then all you have to do is go to your main menu by pressing the HOME button in the center console
Go to the APPLICATION menu
Next, move over to Applications by using the knob and turn that clockwise to get to that menu and you press and it takes you to enter
Find and select the VEHICLE STATUS MONITOR
After that, you go all the way down to Vehicle Status Monitor
Select MAINTENANCE
The next step is to get into the Maintenance
Select OIL CHANGE
At this point, you can see some maintenance options. So we want pull-downs to go to Oil Change and it will show that you have some miles before the next before the oil changes
Select RESET
From there you can change the settings or you can go to the bottom and reset it
Confirm it
Once you are done with that, you can confirm it to perform the oil reset

Hi Nick! (2017 Mazda CX9) I needed to reset my oil change date and mileage but I want to change the miles from 5000 to 7500 miles. I've changed it on the reset screen but on the dashboard screen it's still 5k. How can I accomplish this ??? Thanks! Don
