Hello, Mercedes fam! Welcome back for another post today. I will show you a secret menu on the Mercedes A-class W169/W176/W177 to service light reset the oil inspection or the oil change.

I know it’s a bit complicated, but I’ll try to walk you through the whole procedure. So stay with us guys. We’re going to show you how to do that now.

For your info, this operation work for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class W169/W176/W177 (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 model years).

2004-2012 A-Class W169 (A160 A150)

  • Turn the ignition on to the first position, not the second one
  • Then you have to put the auto meter on like this screen. If you’re not on this screen you can use the ❏ button on the steering wheel to cycle through the menu

  • And then it’s important to press the RESET knob on the dash three-time quickly and it will bring up the Voltage menu

  • Our next step is to press the arrow down button to bring you to the SERVICE MENU
  • Here, we can choose to reset our service. Use the + and buttons to go up or down so we want to go down to CONFIRMATION
  • Confirm that with the ❏ button
  • Select FULL SERVICE and you’re done

2013-2017 A-Class W176 (A180 A200)

Time needed: 3 minutes

This section will show you how to reset the service light on a Mercedes-Benz A200 W176. This is a 2015 vehicle but this applies to models from 2013 to 2017. So let’s go ahead now and try it for ourselves.

  1. Turn the car to position 1

    The first thing we have to do is put the key into the ignition and put it into position one

  2. Make sure you’re on the Mileage screen

    Then we have to make sure that it is on the Mileage screen. So if it’s on any other use the ▲or▼ button cycle through the screen

  3. Long press the CALL button and then hold the OK button afterward

    Next, we have to hold down the CALL button and straight off the press and hold the OK button and that will price into the Service Menu

  4. Go to the ASSIST PLUS

    Once it does you can use the ▲or▼ button on the left hand of the steering wheel to scroll down to ASSIST PLUS and press OK to get in

  5. Select FULL SERVICE

    After that, you scroll down again to FULL SERVICE and press OK

  6. Scroll to CONFIRM FULL SERVICE

    Select CONFIRM FULL SERVICE and then confirm the oil grade that is used

  7. Select CONFIRM

    Finally, confirm one last time and that should be the full service completed 

2018-2021 A-Class W177 (A220 A250)

Here we have a lovely 2019 A-Class A220 and we need to reset the service light. This procedure will work for any class with the same steering wheel layout. So let’s get started.

  • All doors and the hood must be closed for the following work
  • Set the ignition to position two
  • Once the ignition is on we swipe the Touch Control to make sure that is on the TRIP menu

  • After that, we’ll press and hold the BACK button and straight after the Touch Control button and hold it down for five seconds

  • Once that’s done we press the BACK button and scroll over to the left to find the WORKSHOP menu and press the Touch Control button to select it
  • From there we scroll down to ASSIST PLUS and select it
  • Go to FULL SERVICE and then to CONFIRM SERVICE
  • Select the quality of the engine oil used and confirm that the service was carried out
  • Finally, confirm one last time and you’re done
