How To Reset Oil Life Light On Ford Taurus (2008-2012)

For your info, this operation work for the fifth and sixth generations of the Ford Taurus (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 model years).

2008-2009 Ford Taurus

Put on the ignition
Underneath the steering wheel, you’re gonna see these buttons. So press the SETUP and you can switch through the menu and brings up to the OIL LIFE =% HOLD RESET = NEW

To reset it I just hold down the RESET button until it goes to 100% and then let it go

2010-2012 Ford Taurus

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, today we’re in a 2012 Taurus, and we’re going to be resetting the oil life. Like the previous model, it will be done by using the SETUP and RESET buttons on the instrument panel. So let’s go ahead.

Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
Don’t start the engine!
Go to the OIL LIFE screen
Then I’m gonna go and hit the SETUP button till it comes to the OIL LIFE =% HOLD RESET = NEW screen
Press and hold the RESET button
Once you get that screen you hold down the RESET button until it says a hundred percent and you’re done
