How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Ford Expedition (2015-2022)

Hello viewers! I will show you guys how to reset the oil life or oil change light on Ford Expedition from 2015 and current. I’ve been changing all of my wife’s Ford Expedition, and this has an alarm on it that goes off when oil changes are required. It also goes off when you get close to it.

So when this warning comes up and you know it will not reset itself. I thought I’d make this short content to show you how to reset this oil change required after changing the engine oil. If you tell you to shop, they could do it, but stay tuned if you want to do it yourself.

How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Ford Expedition (2015-2022)

For your info, this operation work for the third and fourth generations of the Ford Expedition (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).

With 4 Inch Display

Time needed: 3 minutes

This section will show you how to reset the oil life on Ford Expedition with a 4 Inch dash screen. The only buttons you need to use to perform this reset are arrows and the OK buttons found on the left side of the steering wheel. So let’s go for it.

Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
Turn the key on and you can have the engine running or the engine off
Go to the SETTINGS
Now with the vehicle running, you’re going to want to hit either the ▲ up or ▼ down arrow it doesn’t matter which one, and that’s going to bring us to some options. You got display mode at the top we’re going to scroll down to SETTINGS
Hit OK
Once settings are highlighted you’re going to hit your OK button that brings us to the vehicle settings
Scroll and select ADVANCED SETTINGS
Skip this step if your vehicle does not have this menu
Get to the VEHICLE
Then scroll down to VEHICLE and press OK
Scroll down to OIL LIFE RESET
Next, we’re going to scroll towards the bottom to find the OIL LIFE RESET and select it
Press and hold the OK button
Once you’ve already changed your oil we’re going to set it to 100 percent. So we’re going to hold in the OK button and you’re done

With 8 Inch Display

Without your foot on the brake go ahead and press the START button two times to put it on
Then you’ll go to the main menu where you can see all of the information that you want and you can go into SETTINGS

Next, you’ll scroll down till you find ADVANCED SETTINGS and hit OK
After that, you’ll want to go to VEHICLE and hit OK
From there you can scroll down until you find OIL LIFE RESET and again just hit the OK button
To reset it you just need to hold the OK button and you’re done

So that’s how easy it is to reset the light. It just took me a little while to find precisely what space in the menu. Read also my other post; we have a lot of great content coming out. ford has never had a 5.8 engine in an expedition. they may have been referring to the 5.4 and 4.6 liter triton motors
