How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Ford Super Duty (2011-2021)

Yo! Wassup trucker? Today we have this Ford f-350, and the thing is with this truck, what I have is the oil change with the change required light comes on. So today, let me show you how to reset the oil life or oil change light on this Ford Super Duty.

Anyway, you need to do this after taking your truck in for an oil change, but the technician forgets to reset the light. Or if you’re doing your own oil change and you want to reset it. So if you need that, stick around.

How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Ford Super Duty

For your info, this operation work for the third and fourth generations of the Ford Super Duty F250/F350/F450/F550/F650/F750 (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).

2011-2016 F250/F350/F450/F550

With Display Type 1

  • Turn it all the way on and so the lights are on
  • Then go ahead and hit the SETUP button until the Oil Life Hold Reset Equal New pops up
  • Next I’m just gonna go ahead and hold press RESET until it changes to 100%

With Display Type 2

Time needed: 3 minutes

This section will show you how to quickly reset the oil change required light on the 2015 Ford f-350. Okay, so if you need to get rid of this light, you should do as follows:

  1. First, insert the key and put the ignition on

    If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the START/STOP button two times without step on any pedal

  2. Go to the main menu

    Then we’re gonna click the ◄ left arrow until reach the main menu

  3. Find the SETTINGS menu

    Next, we’re gonna scroll down to the SETTINGS and press the ► right button to enter the sub-menu

  4. Scroll to the VEHICLE menu

    From this menu find the VEHICLE and go over right 

  5. Select OIL LIFE RESET

    Highlight the Oil Life Reset and then hit the ► button

  6. Press and hold the OK button

    Once you get there, hold the OK button down until the oil life display changes to 100 percent

2017-2020 F250/F350/F450/F650/F750

With Small Display

So here is this for the model with the small LCD on the dash.

  • Get in the car and turn it on
  • Hit the ◄ left button to bring you to the main menu
  • From the main menu select SETTINGS
  • Then scroll down to the VEHICLE
  • Next find the OIL LIFE RESET in this menu
  • Finally, you’re gonna hold the OK button and you’re done

With Medium Display

  • Stick the key in and turn it to the on position
  • Then go to the main menu by use your keypad to the ◄ left
  • Next, you go down to the SETTINGS and go over right to get in
  • Now find and select the ADVANCED SETTINGS
  • And then you go one more and in the VEHICLE
  • After that, find the OIL LIFE RESET and select it
  • To reset it you need to hold down the OK button and you’re done

With Large Display

This section only gonna be for the F350 with the big LCD screen on the cluster so that’s gonna be your Lariats and Platinum’s and on. So let’s go ahead.

  • The first step you’re gonna turn the key on
  • Then you’re gonna clear any messages on the screen just by pressing OK on the left steering wheel control switch
  • Once that is clicked cleared you are then going to use the ◄or► button to navigate over to the SETTINGS function
  • After that, you’re going to the ADVANCED SETTINGSVEHICLE ➔ and then OIL LIFE RESET
  • Once you’ve arrived at the Oil Life you’re going to hold the OK button until it is complete and you’re good to go

2021-2022 F250/F350/F550/F650/F750

With 2 Inch Display

  • Put on the ignition without start the engine
  • Then you press the ◄ left button until it’s gonna show you the MAIN MENU
  • Next, go down to the DRIVER ASSSIST
  • After that select the MAINT. MONITOR
  • Over here it is going to show you the several option, so you press down until it’s going to show you the OIL LIFE
  • To reset it you need to press and hold the OK button

With 8 Inch Display

  • Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position
  • Go to the TRUCK INFO ➔ MAINTENANCE MONITOR ➔ OIL LIFE
  • Once you’ve arrived at the Oil Life screen you need to hold the OK button to reset it
