GMC Sierra Engine Oil Life System

The GMC Sierra engine oil life system helps owners determine when to change the oil in their vehicle. It can last up to 12,000 miles or four thousand miles in city driving if adequately maintained. You should check the oil in your car at least once every year and change the filter as needed. To increase the life of your GMC’s oil, you should rotate the tires every couple of months and have them inspected by a mechanic. You should also consider an alignment if you haven’t already. This will help reduce uneven tire wear.

The engine oil life system maintenance schedule for your 2020 GMC Sierra includes changing the oil and changing the engine filter. During these visits, the GMC technicians check the evaporative control system, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and spark plugs. Additionally, the service will include visual inspection and tire rotation. A technician will check the condition of all hoses, belts, and lighting components. The brakes will be limited to ensure they’re working correctly.

The engine oil life monitor will tell you when your vehicle needs an oil change. It also keeps track of how many miles you’ve driven since your last oil change. The odometer will display when you’re due for an oil change. The oil life monitor can skip this step if the remaining life of the engine is 100%. Your GMC Sierra engine oil life monitor is a convenient tool for drivers when they need to change the oil.
