How To Reset Oil Life/Engine Oil Change Light On Chevy Volt (2016-2019)

Hey guys! What’s up? Today, we will do an oil life, or oil change light reset on the Chevy Volt. So it has been sitting around for a long time, almost a year, and the oil is dark, but we’ve changed the engine oil with the new one.
So we’ve just done a quick DIY to change the oil for the engine. This was my first oil change with the Chevy Volt at 41,000 miles. I’ve already changed a little twice at the dealership. One at ten thousand miles and another at 20,000 miles, and now that’s forty-one thousand miles, I figured it’s time to do a DIY on it. So let’s jump into this and get this thing done.
Here’s How You Reset Oil Life/Engine Oil Change Light On Chevy Volt
Time needed: 3 minutes
Alright, we’re in the Chevy Volt. For your info, this will apply specifically to the 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 model years. The 2011 through 2015 model is slightly different, but I’ll try to get you a link up here. So let’s get right to work.
- Turn on your car
Well of course first you’re gonna have to power on the car
- Go to the cluster menu
Then we’re gonna need this right here and press this little ◄ left arrow to access the cluster menu
- Find and select the INFO menu
Next, on the left menu, you’ll go up or down to go to the INFO and then hit the ✓ check button in the middle
- Scroll down to the OIL LIFE
After that, you need to scroll down until you see OIL LIFE screen
- Press and hold the ✓ button
Once you get there, what you want to do is press the ✓ check button and hold it till you hear a beep and it says 100%
