Good day folks! Today I’m going to be showing you guys how to reset your service light like engine oil or breaks or anything else that you might have wrong with your Mini Hardtop F55/F56. The mini cooper that I’m talking about today is the new Mini Cooper Hardtop.

The service reminder will flash on the display when it’s time for a checkup. After you’ve completed the car maintenance, you’ll need to reset the service minder information screen. So let’s get started.

For your info, this will apply specifically to 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 model years. The 2000 through 2013 model has a little bit different but I’ll try to get you a link up here.

With Analog Gauge

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, this is the way to reset the oil service light on this Mini Hardtop F55/F56 or any other service parts such as the braking or whatever. So let’s go inside and reset the service light.

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine

    So first with your foot off the clutch and brake pedal press, the START button once and the ignition will turn on without starting the car

  2. Press and hold the 0.0 button

    Next, you’ll press and hold the 0.0 button until you see the Reset Possible service item

  3. Find the Engine Oil

    From there you can cycle through all the others and find the oil can for the Engine Oil symbol by hitting the 0.0 button briefly

  4. Hold down the 0.0 button

    When you get to the one you want press and hold the 0.0 button and you’ll see PERFORM RESET?

  5. Release the button and then hold it again

    After that, let go and hold again so you’ll see RESET IN PROGRESS and then RESET SUCCESSFUL

With Digital Gauge

  • Turn it on to the first position and so the lights are on
  • On the top left side of the gauge console, you’ll see a little button, and you need to press and hold it till you see the text “Reset Possible”

  • Press the button again to navigate through the service items and choose the ENGINE OIL
  • Press and hold the button again while you’re on the Engine Oil screen, then release it when it reads “Reset?”
  • To confirm it you’ll hold the button again and when it says “Reset In Process,” release the button you’ve been holding and wait till it reads Reset Successful

So that’s all you have to do. As you can see now, the service light has been cleared, and we are clear for takeoff. I hope this has been helpful. I’m not looking for any money or anything.
