2008-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Service Minder Light Reset (GL500) – The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is an off-road saloon, the American name for such cars is full-size SUV. The model was introduced to the public in January 2006 at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit and delivered from October 2006.
The GL-class (internal designation X 164) is technically closely related to the M class (W 164). Like the R-Class (251 series), the vehicle was manufactured by Mercedes-Benz U.S. Internationally produced in Vance near Tuscaloosa (Alabama / USA). The second generation of the GL-Class came onto the market in November 2012.

When maintenance service is due, the Service minder or Spanner light will appear on the display. The service minder information display must be reset after performed the maintenance service on your vehicle. Follow the instructions below to reset the Service Minder light on your Mercedes-Benz GL-Class:
- Turn the ignition key to position 1 without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the ENGINE START STOP button twice without touching the brake pedal
- Press the ❏ menu button repeatedly until VEHICLE TRIP MILEAGE displayed
The button is located on the steering wheel
- Press the R button 3 times in a short succession until BATTERY VOLTAGE appears on the display
The button is located on the cluster
- Go to SERVICE MENU
Use the UP or DOWN button on the steering to navigate
- Scroll down and highlight the CONFIRMATION by using – button
Press the ❏ menu button to select it
- Scroll down and highlight the FULL SERVICE
Press the ❏ menu button to select it
- Press the ❏ menu button again to confirm the reset process
