Hey everybody! Thanks for tuning in again. Today, I’m going to show you some of the cheapest things you can do to repair, work on, and maintain your vehicles in your home. We got a Toyota Matrix, and all we need to do on it is reset the maintenance required light on it.
By the way, this car has a little under a hundred thousand miles, and I’ve changed my oil every five thousand miles. This bit overdue, so we’re going to get started on that not too much. It should be nice short content for everyone. So let’s go in the car and let’s do that.
Time needed: 3 minutes
Alright, we’re in the Toyota Matrix, and we’re going to be taking care of this maintenance required light. We’re going to be using is the Trip button on the dash to do a reset. So here’s what we’re going to do:
We’re not going to be starting the engine up. So you need to rotate the key until you get to the second position
Then the odometer has to be on the ODO (for the 2003-2008 models) and TRIP A (for the 2009-2014 models) or it won’t reset. So you need to push the ODO/TRIP button to change it to the ODO or TRIP A
After that, you turn the key off
Now you hold the ODO/TRIP button and you’ll keep it pressed in while turning the key on again
Keep holding it down and you’ll see the little lines flashing there and as soon as you see it flash the zeros you can take your finger off and then it is has been reset
Now you can turn the power on and do a last verify that the light is indeed off
So that’s how you reset on this car (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 model years). Now you’re all at zero new oil change, and you’re ready to go. So if this content helped you guys out, please share it, and thank you for reading!

Very helpful. I didn't realize that you had to be on Odo mode. Thank you!
