2008-2009 Pontiac G5 TPMS Low Tire Pressure Sensor Light Reset Guide – The Pontiac G5 is a passenger car launched in Canada or late 2004 as the Pontiac Pursuit. Pontiac G4 came on the market in Mexico. In the USA, it was introduced in mid-2006 under the name Pontiac G5.

While this vehicle was available in Canada and Mexico both as a coupé and as a four-door, it was only offered as a coupé in the USA. Both versions were available with either a 2.2-liter or a 2.4-liter Ecotec gasoline engine.

2008-2009 Pontiac G5 TPMS Low Tire Pressure Sensor Light Reset Guide

Time needed: 7 minutes

If you replacing a spare tire with a road tire containing the TPMS sensor on your Pontiac G5, the system will detect a malfunction and the low tire pressure warning light will blink. You can reset the TPMS by increasing or decreasing the tire pressure without using tools. Follow these instructions to get started:

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the Engine Start/Stop button without touching the brake pedal

  2. Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter’s LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for five seconds

    The horn will sound twice and the TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message will appear indicating the TPMS matching process has started

  3. Activate the TPMS sensor

    Start from the driver side front tire, remove the valve cap, and then increasing or decreasing the tire’s air pressure until a horn chirp sounds

  4. Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire

    A horn chirp will confirm that the sensor has been reset

  5. Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire

    The TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message will disappear

  6. Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

    Done!
