How To Reset Roland SP-404A Linear Wave Sampler To Factory Settings

There are several reasons you need to reset your Roland SP-404A to factory settings, such as when you want to sell it or when a system error. Here’s how the settings stored in the unit can be restored to their default values.

1. Prepare an SD card that has been formatted on the SP-404A

   Skip this step if you’re using the SD card that was included with the device

2. Press and hold the CANCEL button and then turn on the power

   Do this to cancel all protection
   

3. When “P.oF” appears on the display, turn off the power

   .

4. Copy the “FCTRY” folder to the root directory of the SD card by using a computer

   Skip this step if you’re using the SD card that was included with the device

5. Insert the SD card to the device

   .

6. Press and hold the CANCEL, REMAIN, and DEL buttons and then turn on the power

   The REC button will start flashing

7. Press the flashing REC button to execute the reset

   Done!
