How To Reset Engine Oil Service Light On Ford Focus (2005-2018)

Hi, Ford fam! Holaaa! Today I will show you how to reset the engine oil or service light on a 2017 Ford Focus. This car has a 2-liter four-cylinder engine. I think the Focus ST and the Focus RS come in different engines. I’m not sure if it’s the same process, but this is just a regular model. I think it’s an SC model; this should apply to all 2011 through 2018 models.

How To Reset Engine Oil Service Light On Ford Focus

Time needed: 3 minutes

So now we’re going to carry out the oil service reset on this Ford Focus. So here’s what we’re going to do.

Turn the key to the second position
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the START/STOP button once without step on any pedal
Step on the GAS and BRAKE pedals simultaneously
Then you need to hold the brake and the gas pedal down at the same time. So hold them and don’t let go and now you will see service oil reset in progress
Continue holding both pedals
So as you can see it’s working now and you need to keep holding them until it tells you that the reset is complete and you’re done
Release the pedals
Now you can turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset

For your info, this operation work for the second and third generations of the Ford Focus (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 model years).
