2017-2022 Ford EcoSport Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

Hey, guys! So we’re back working on the Ford Ecosport. Today is another how-to episode, and today we’re going to be doing an oil change or service light reset, and this is pretty much everything you’re going to need in order to do it on this Ford Ecosport.

The Ecosport is very simplistic, and it doesn’t take a lot of effort an oil life reset in general. It should only take you if you’re meandering about 3 minutes. So let’s go through the steps to reset it.

2017-2021 Ford EcoSport Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

For your info, this operation work for the second generations of the Ford EcoSport BK (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).

With Gas & Brake Pedal

Turn the key forward without starting it
Then step on the GAS pedal and the BRAKE pedal at the same time for at least 25 seconds
Keep hold it and wait till the message went away
Once it does, you can relase the pedals and start the car. You shouldn’t have the message and the reset is complete

With Steering Button

Time needed: 3 minutes

You can also reset the oil life through the instrument cluster with the control button on the steering wheel for the latest models. So let me do that right now.

Turn on the ignition
First, turn on the ignition. You don’t have to have your vehicle on to reset it but you do have to have it in accessory mode however you can do it with the vehicle running as well
Go to the SETTINGS
Then use the button here on the steering wheel ▲ up or ▼ down and you’re gonna want to get to where it says ⚙️ SETTINGS
Press the ☰ menu button
Next, you’re gonna want to hit the ☰ menu button to enter the submenu
Select the INFORMATION
Now highlight and hit the ☰ menu button on the INFORMATION menu
Find the OIL LIFE
After that, you want to scroll down and select the OIL LIFE
Hold down the OK button
At this point, you need to hold down the OK button and you’ll start to see it resetting and that’s all there

The 2022 Titanium Ecosport does not have a key. It has a button to start the vehicle which I push the brake and button and the car starts.
