2004-2010 Mercedes-Benz SLK-280 Service Minder Oil Light Reset – The Mercedes-Benz R 171 is a roadster of the car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. The convertible is the second generation of the SLK series and successor to the Mercedes-Benz R 170. The R 171 was built at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen. The vehicle was first presented at the 74th Geneva Motor Show. Sales start in Europe was March 27, 2004, on March 26, 2011, he was replaced by the third generation.

The engines include a four-cylinder engine (engine designation M 271), two six-cylinder engine (M 272) and an eight-cylinder engine (M 113). From the start of the series, the four-cylinder engine was available. The engine has a displacement of 1.8 liters and is supplied with the help of a compressor with charge air. The SLK 350 debuted the new generation of six-cylinder engines, internally referred to as M 272, which again has four valves per cylinder.

Time needed: 7 minutes

When maintenance service is due, the Service minder or Spanner light will appear on the display. The service minder information display must be reset after performed the maintenance service on your vehicle. Follow the instructions below to reset the Service Minder light on your Mercedes-Benz SLK-280:

  1. Turn the ignition to position 1, without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the START-STOP ENGINE button without touching the brake pedal.

  2. Press the TRIP button quickly 3 times until the battery voltage appears on the display

    The button is located on the instrument cluster

  3. Go to SERVICE menu

    Use the UP or DOWN arrow button on the steering to display the menu

  4. Scroll down and highlight the CONFIRMATION by using – button

    Press the ❏ menu button to select it

  5. Select COMPLETE SERVICE to confirm the reset process

    Done!
