How To Reset Oil Life Light On Cadillac CTS After Oil Change (2003-2014)

Hello, sunshine! How are you? We got a quick guide for you today. Today, I got the 2009 Cadillac CTS did an oil change on it, so now I got to reset the oil life monitor.

How To Reset Oil Life Light On Cadillac CTS After Oil Change
For your info, this operation work for the first and second generations of the Cadillac CTS (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 model years).
2003-2007 Cadillac CTS
Alright, today we’re in the 2007 Cadillac CTS, and we’re going to be resetting the oil life. It’s going to be done actually on this radio screen.
- First, we’re going to turn the key to the second position
- Then we’re going to be using this button here to cycle up and down and then clear it using this. So let’s go up until we find Oil Life on screen and if you pass it just go down right there
- Once you get it, you just need to hold the CLR down and it will reset to 100%
2008-2014 Cadillac CTS
With DIC Button
Time needed: 3 minutes
There are two ways to reset the oil life in this generation, and in this section, I’m going to show you the easy one. So the first thing you’re going to have to do is:
- Turn on the ignition
First, turn the key to the run position which is one click before it starts the engine
- Find the remaining Oil Life screen
On your left-hand side, there is an information button right there, press on it a few times to cycle through options until you find an oil life indicator
- Press and hold the ✓ button
Once you get there, now you press on the ✓ checkmark button and hold it for about five seconds and your oil life should reset to 100%
With Gas Pedal
- First, turn the key to the on position
- As soon as it does, you want to pump your GAS pedal three times slowly so that will reset your oil life
- Now you can turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
