So after you’ve done your oil change, you need to reset your oil life indicator to 100% in this Cadillac CTS. So I’m going to show you how to do it, and it should work on 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 model years. There are two ways to do it, and I’m going to show you both methods.

Anyway, you can do this after every oil change. So the computer or the engine doesn’t think that the oil is older than it really is. And this will give you a more accurate prediction of when you need to do the oil change. So join me today, and let’s reset it.

  3. Scroll down to the OIL LIFE

Now you’re going to scroll down until you get to oil life

  4. Press and hold the SEL button

Then, you’re going to click and hold the SEL button and it’ll reset itself

  • Next, we’re going to scroll down through the menu and find the Oil Life
  • Now to reset it you just need to hold down the SEL button and it will reset to 100%

With Gas Pedal

Another way of doing this is the old-fashioned GM way of using the gas pedal. So here’s how we’re going to do that:

  • First, you’re going to place the vehicle in Service Mode by pushing the START button for 5 seconds without step on any pedal
  • Then put your foot on the GAS pedal and then push it down three times all over to the floor

So that’s how you do it. That will create the conditions to reset the oil change light or go through and use the buttons on the steering wheel either way. So either way, guys, I hope you enjoyed it, and we’ll catch you on the next one. God bless!
