TPMS Reset: GMC Savana Tire Pressure Sensor Light (2008-2021) – The GMC Savana and almost identical Chevrolet Express are pickups from General Motors. Since the 2003 model year, the vehicle has been built on the GM GMT-610 platforms.
The Express and Savana are offered as a panel van (Work Van) and a station wagon (Passenger Van) with 8 to 15 seats. ESP (StabiliTrak) has been available in all passenger variants since 2004.

TPMS Reset: GMC Savana Tire Pressure Sensor Light (2008-2021)
If you replacing a spare tire with a road tire containing the TPMS sensor on your GMC Savana, the system will detect a malfunction and the low tire pressure warning light will blink. When that happens, the TPMS sensor reset process must be done. Depending on the vehicle model you have, here are a few ways to reset the TPMS.
2008-2010 Models
Time needed: 7 minutes
If you have 2008 2009 2010 GMC Savana, you can reset the TPMS by increasing or decreasing the tire pressure without a tool. Follow these instructions to get started:
- Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the Engine Start/Stop button without touching the brake pedal
- Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter’s LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for five seconds
The horn will sound twice and the TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message will appear indicating the TPMS matching process has started
- Activate the TPMS sensor
Start from the driver side front tire, remove the valve cap, and then increasing or decreasing the tire’s air pressure until a horn chirp sounds
- Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire
A horn chirp will confirm that the sensor has been reset
- Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire
The TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message will disappear
- Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

2011-2021 Models
Unlike the previous model year, you’ll need TPMS Relearn Tool to reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System in this 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 model years. Follow these steps to do it:
- Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
- Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter’s LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously until the horn sounds twice
- Start from the driver side front tire, place the TPMS Relearn Tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor
- A horn chirp will confirm that the sensor has been reset
- Repeat the process for the passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and the driver side rear tire
- Turn off the ignition after you reset the last tire
- Adjust the tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard
