2005-2019 Skoda Octavia Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

Hi, my friend! What’s new? Today we will be working on a Skoda Octavia, and we’re going to be resetting the oil change light, including the inspection service light.

By the way, I know some of the Octavia can do this manually. However, some others are never being able to do that. So it would help if you used a tool to reset it. But apart from that, it’s a super easy job. So come with me and stay tuned.

Skoda Octavia Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide

For your info, there are two ways to reset it and this guide will be valid for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 model years.

2005-2011 Octavia MK2

With the switch off press and hold the knob on the dash

As you hold it down, you turn your ignition switch back on
After that, you’re going to release the button and then turn the knob clockwise within 20 seconds
Now, the service message is deactivated. You can start your car to check the result

2012-2019 Octavia MK3

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, I have an Octavia MK3 here, and it’s got the oil service and inspection now warning on in the dash. In this section, I will show you how to reset that. So the reset can be done as follows:

Make sure the vehicle is completely stopped
Turn OFF the ignition
Press and hold the 0.0/SET button while turning the ignition on
Hold the 0.0/SET button and as you’re holding turn on the ignition without starting the engine
Keep holding the 0.0/SET button
Keep holding and then you’ll get the Reset Oil Change message first and then if you wait for it a little bit longer it will change to a Reset Inspection Service message
Press the 0.0/SET button
As soon as you got the option you want, you have to press the SET button again to confirm
