The SV-1 is Korg’s first foray into vintage keyboard territory. Combining pianos, electric pianos and a small selection of other instruments chosen for the non‑synthesist who requires a range of mainstream sounds, the Korg SV1 ‘Stage Vintage’ is the latest contender in the now-congested field of stage pianos. Available in two sizes (73 and 88-note) both models utilise Korg’s RH3 graded-hammer action keybed (found in the M50 and M3-88). This is a key scene 7 octaves, there are 6 banks of 6 sounds each, 36 sounds in total, plus additional sounds available on the Korg website. Can modify them (a little) with the software supplied with the keyboard. Level connections, there is everything you need, USB, MIDI input and output Jack of course not forgetting the XLR.
According to several user reviews, they have praised Korg SV-1 for the acoustic and electric piano sounds are outstanding; RX Noise adds a new level of realism to them; It’s a joy to play. Also, some users have complained it for non‑piano sounds somewhat confuse its identity, in my opinion; No splits, layers or multitimbrality; You need to hook it up to a computer to get the best from it.
Warning! This operation returns all settings you’ve made in the menus to their factory-set condition. Be sure that you want to do this. Hopefully the article of “Resetting Korg SV-1 Stage Vintage Piano” can help you.
