How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Lincoln MKZ (2010-2020)

Hi, friends! How you doin’? Today I want to give you a quick little sweet taste of me resetting the oil life or oil change light in my Lincoln MKZ. I’m not going to be much content in this post, just going to the point of just my doing it.

So I’ve just changed the oil, and now I need to reset my oil life. So I’m inside the vehicle here, and you can also refer to the manual that tells you how to do it right there. So let’s go inside and reset the oil life.

How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Lincoln MKZ

For your info, there are two ways to reset and it depends on your vehicle model years (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).

2010-2012 Lincoln MKZ

Alright, we’re in a Lincoln MKZ 2010 model, and the oil change required light is on. To reset this we’re going to be using the buttons on the center and we’re gonna basically use the Setup and Reset buttons. So let’s get it going.

First, get in the car and turn it on
So with the menu on the dash, I’m going to push down the SETUP button till it shows the OIL LIFE HOLD RESET = NEW

Then you just hold down the RESET button and that will change the oil life to 100%

2013-2020 Lincoln MKZ

Time needed: 3 minutes

If you want to reset the oil life reminder on the new Lincoln MKZ, you’re going to use the buttons on your steering wheel, and you’re going to look at the cluster screen. So the reset can be done as follows:

Turn on the ignition
Press the START button twice and make sure all the way is on
Go to the left screen
Then go ahead and press over to the left and you’ll see that the cluster changes
Get to the SETTINGS
Now this is we’re going to find your menus at then we’re going to go down until it says SETTINGS and hit OK
Select VEHICLE
Next, we’re going to go to VEHICLE
Find the OIL LIFE
From there go down to where it says OIL LIFE and select it
Hold down OK
At this point, all you have to do is press down and hold OK until it changes to 100% and you’re done
