What is the recommended maintenance schedule for Nissan Altima?
There are some different Nissan Altima maintenance services that your vehicle requires. These services range from oil changes to shock absorbers to wiper blade replacement. Depending on the model, these services may also replace the engine mount. For more information, see the Nissan Altima maintenance schedule below. It would be best if you also had your car serviced, and the recommended schedule is outlined below.
Oil Change
Every 5,000 miles, your Nissan Altima needs an oil change. Other basic maintenance tasks, like changing the oil filter, occur every six months. If you follow the oil change schedule, your vehicle should last 5,000 miles before it needs a complete overhaul. It would help if you took your Altima in for regular maintenance every six months to prevent engine overheating. For more information, visit Nissan’s maintenance schedule.
Oil Filter Replacement
Following the recommended maintenance schedule is critical to keep your Nissan Altima running like new. This maintenance schedule should be repeated after a few miles and include fundamental oil changes and oil filter replacements. Other services your car needs include tire rotation and a general inspection of its major systems. The maintenance schedule will catch problems before they can cost you a bundle. In addition to oil changes and oil filter replacements, you should also have the vehicle’s brakes checked regularly.
Drive Belts
You should consider your drive belt maintenance schedule as your Nissan Altima approaches mid-life. While it’s best to check it regularly, it is also a good idea to perform brake pad replacements as needed. Your car’s owner’s manual can learn about Nissan Altima maintenance schedules. Here’s how to follow them:
Wiper Blades
You should check the maintenance schedule of your wiper blades at least once every six months. In addition to cleaning, they should be replaced when they begin to leave residue and make noise. To ensure their performance, replace them when their appearance begins to fade. Wipers can also be damaged by wind pressure. Regardless of the model year, wiper blade maintenance should regularly be part of your car care routine.
EVAP Vapor Lines
Your EVAP vapor lines should be inspected by a mechanic every 20,000 miles. This preventative maintenance is also essential for your Nissan Altima’s exhaust and fuel line systems. In addition, you should have your brake fluid changed, the air cleaner filter replaced, and the Nissan Intelligent Key battery checked. These are just a few vital car maintenance tasks that your Nissan Altima should receive.
Fuel Lines
The recommended Nissan Altima fuel lines maintenance schedule calls for regular oil and fluid changes every 5,000 miles. Aside from the recommended oil changes, Nissan recommends replacing the brake pads and rotors. You should replace them annually to protect the car’s engine and reduce fuel consumption. Also, have the fuel lines cleaned and inspected if necessary. You should also replace the spark plugs and the oil filter when necessary.
Tires
There are three primary types of tires for Nissan Altima. Touring and grand-touring tires offer excellent traction and comfort but are not intended for fast driving. Choosing a high-performance tire will improve your Altima’s responsiveness, improve traction in corners, and strengthen braking. This type of tire will fit your driving style and preferences.
