Hello, what’s up, everybody! Today, I will tell you everything you need to know on how to reset the oil maintenance or service light on the Nissan Altima. The oil change minder system uses a half-year timer or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first to determine when to change the oil.
So the maintenance light comes on every five thousand miles to tell me I need an old change. Depending on your combination of operating condition and actual mileage, your interval may vary instead of using a predetermined oil change interval schedule either by time or mileage. 2013-2018 Nissan Altima Maintenance Light Reset Procedure

This section will show you guys how to reset your oil maintenance service light on the 2014 Nissan Altima. It should work on the other models with a similar display and setup. Okay, so let’s get started.
- Turn on the ignition
If your car has a Smart key button, press the START button twice without stepping on the brake pedal
- Go to the ⚙️ SETTINGS menu
Hit the ❏ button until you’ve ended up with the ⚙️ settings on the far right
- Find the MAINTENANCE
Navigate with the ▲or▼ joystick button part of the steering wheel to go down until you get to Maintenance
- Press ENTER
Once you get there, press the ENTER button to get into the menu
- Select SERVICE or ENGINE OIL
There are three different maintenance intervals you can set. But now we’re gonna go into the Service
- On this menu, you can choose RESET or set the distance for service-type items
The service is set to go off every 5,000 miles, and you can actually change that if you want probably just leave that alone and go to reset it. You just scroll down to reset and you hold down it for a while, and that should reset
You can also reset other maintenance items if needed. The tire is the same way, and the other is programmable. So that can mean anything you wanted to point out. You can set it to go off every 500 miles if you wish.
Resetting Oil Light in New Nissan Altima (2019-2023)

- Get in the car and turn it on
- Once it loads up you’re going to press the ► arrow button to the right until you go all the way over to the SETTINGS
- From there you’re gonna use the ▼ down arrow key to go all the way down to MAINTENANCE
- Press the OK button to select it
- And then select the OIL CONTROL SYSTEM
- Now you’re going to press the OK to reset it
- Finally, select YES to confirm the oil reset
Also if you have other settings attached to it, you can press the back arrow key and then you can go down to Oil and Filter or another maintenance item. Just follow the same steps to reset.
