Quick Oil Life Reset Guide On Honda Ridgeline (2006-2014)

How you doin’ trucker? Today we’ve got a Honda Ridgeline with a maintenance service code A12, oil life 15%, and of course, the little wrench light indicating it’s due for service. So now I’m going to walk you through real quickly how to reset these oil life in this Honda Ridgeline.
So we went ahead and performed the A12 service. Each letter and number represents what services are due. The A is your standard oil change; 1 indicates it’s due for tire rotation, and 2 indicates it’s due for engine air filter cabin filter. So let’s go through the steps to reset it.

Here’s How You Reset Oil Life On Honda Ridgeline
For your info, this will apply specifically to the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 model years. The 2017 model is slightly different, but I’ll try to get you a link up here.
For 2006-2008 Ridgeline
- First, take your key and go ahead and switch it to the on position
- Then you’re going to use your SELECT and RESET switches. So hit SELECT to cycle through everything you want to go to where it’s actually saying OIL LIFE or SERVICE and it’s flashing past due
- Once you get there, you go ahead and hold the RESET button for 10 seconds till it’s changed to say MAINT RESET
- After that, you’re going to hit the SELECT switch to Y and then you’re going to hit the RESET button to confirm it and bring it back into 100%
For 2009-2014 Ridgeline
Time needed: 3 minutes
Alright, we have a 2012 Honda Ridgeline with a navigation system here. On the side of the dash screen, you’ll have some buttons here concerning how to reset it. So let’s get to work.
- Turn on the ignition
First, we’re going to turn the key to the accessory mode so there the engine does not have to be running
- Go to the Trip meter screen
Then use the ▲/▼ arrow buttons to scroll through the menu and we’ll find the trip meter
- Find the OIL LIFE
Once you found it, we want to use the SEL/RESET button in the middle to get through the trip meter come down to OIL LIFE
- Hold down the SEL/RESET
After that, you press and hold the SEL/RESET button and keep holding that, and eventually, it’s gonna come up to the MAINTENANCE RESET screen
- Hit the SEL/RESET button
To reset it you just need to press the SEL/RESET button and you’re done
- Take the key and turning it to the on position without cranking up the engine
- Then you want to press the SELECT button to where it says Service or Oil Life pops up
- Once you’re on this screen, you’re gonna want to press and hold the TRIP/RESET button for about 15-20 seconds
- Once it begins to flash you can let it go and go ahead and hold it one more time so it’ll reset go-to oil life 100% and you’re set to your next oil change
