Hi, young man! What is going on? Today I’m going to show you how to reset the oil life light on a Chevy Corvette C5/C6 after you’ve done an oil change. If you want to get rid of the light, I will show you how to do it here.
This isn’t going to be a long post. I noticed that most of the oil reset posts on other sites are long. It’s seriously done in a couple of steps, so I’m going to keep it short and straightforward so you guys can reset your oil as quickly as you can. So let’s get it going.
Here’s How You Reset Oil Life or Oil Change Light On Chevy Corvette C5/C6
Time needed: 3 minutes
Here we have a C6 Corvette, and I’ll show you how to perform the oil life reset procedure. We’ll be utilizing the keys to the right-hand side of the dash while viewing the screen there in the cluster. So now we’ll get started here.
- Turn on the ignition
First, doesn’t matter if it’s with the engine running or just ignition on
- Get the Remaining Oil Life on the display
All you have to do is press the TRIP button to bring up the OIL LIFE REMAINING screen
- Press the RESET button for several seconds
Then press and hold the RESET button to restore the engine oil original state of 100%
- Start the car
Now you can turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
So that’s how you reset on this Corvette (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 model years). As I said, it was done in a few simple steps, but you will do that every three to five thousand miles after an oil change. I was out like four thousand miles, and we’re going on a long drive next weekend. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day.
