Hey, folks, welcome back to my site. I hope you all are having a great day. In today’s post, I will show you how I reset the service minder or wrench light in my 2017 Mazda CX-5 after an engine oil change.
So once you do the oil change, you do need to reset the light. We’re here to help those of you doing it at home or let’s say your dealer manufacturer forget to reset it for you. So without further ado, let’s get into it.
Table of Contents
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this section, we’re going to show you how you can set your distances when it comes to your maintenance for an oil change on the new Mazda CX-5. So all you need to do is:
Do not press on the brake, just put the car on accessory by pressing the START button twice and everything should luminate all the gauges all the lights the screen should come on
Press the HOME button on the center console and it’s gonna pop up with the main menu
Turn the dial knob to highlight the APPLICATION menu
Once you have this highlighted it will say Applications then you’re gonna push down on the dial knob to get in
Once you get it, move the dial to the right to go to the Vehicle Status Monitor
Next, you’re gonna turn a knob again to take you into the Maintenance and you’re gonna go push down on this knob once
This is all of your scheduled maintenance. If you had interval setup for Scheduled Maintenance, Tire Rotation, or Oil Change all of those would appear here and this is also where you reset each of those
You can go right here to change the amount of how many miles you want but we’re gonna reset. So you’re going to reset and you press reset then it will give you another 5,000 miles
The service minder system can also be reset as follows:
For your info, this operation work for the second generation of the Mazda CX-5 (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years). For the older model, you can reach it here.
What does the wrench light mean in your Mazda CX-5? This light will appear on your Mazda CX-5 once it’s due for scheduled maintenance. Among other things, it will tell you whether or not you need an oil change, tire rotation, or any other type of service. Here are some tips to help you diagnose this warning. If the wrench light continues to appear, it’s time to take your vehicle to a service center. Failing to service your vehicle can void the warranty.
A broken clutch or a faulty transmission may cause your car’s wrench light. If you’ve noticed the light while driving, you should contact a Mazda dealership right away. If unsure, try looking in the Multi-Information Display to see what system might malfunction. For example, if your vehicle’s engine is smoking, it means that it’s time for maintenance.
A faulty transmission or differential can cause an automobile to overheat, causing it to break down. If the wrench light stays on, it may indicate that a pre-set maintenance interval has expired. In addition, a wrench light can also signal that you need to change the fuel in your vehicle. Whether it’s yellow, green, or red, you should visit a mechanic immediately. A Mazda wrench light is one of many warning lights on your car.
Rather than 0W-20, the 2019 MAZDA 2.5L engine requires 5W-30 synthetic, and Castrol is recommended in the US.
The SUV’s 2.5L 4 -cylinder engine holds 4.8 quarts of engine oil, while the turbo version can hold 5.1 quarts.
Rough idling, jerking, shaking, and forceful shifting are some of the gearbox issues with the 2019 Mazda CX-5.
So that’s how you reset the oil change/service/wrench light on this Mazda CX-5. If you guys have any questions or anything, let me know in the comment section. So thanks for stopping by. I hope this post has been helpful to you, and I’ll see you at the next one.
