Reset Preference:

1. Double click on Adobe Ilustrator’s icon.
2. QUICKLY hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (for windows) or Cmd-Opt-Ctrl-Shift (for MAC)
3. When the small window pops up and asks “Delete the Adobe Ilustrator Settings File?“, click Yes.

If you want delete the Preferences file manually:

Mac

1. Go to your Home directory > Library > Preferences > Adobe Illustrator CS Settings.
2. In this folder, delete the file called ‘Adobe Illustrator Prefs’ and empty the Trash.

Windows

1. In ‘My Computer’, Go to Documents and Settings > User > Application Data > Adobe > Adobe Illustrator CS Settings.
2. Delete the file called ‘Adobe Illustrator Prefs’ and empty the Trash on your desktop.
