What’s up guys! We got a 2017 Toyota Prius and we’re going to show you how to reset the oil maintenance light on this latest Toyotas car from about 2016 to around 2023 take the same procedure. So this procedure will work for all of those.
The maintenance light will come on every 5,000 miles and if you don’t take it in to have it serviced the light will stay on. It’s a little annoying because sometimes you don’t really have the time to take it in right away and if you want to turn it off until you have time to take the car in, you can do the following instruction. So let’s get right into it.

I’ve got a 2017 Toyota Prius, and I’m going to use it to point out to you how to reset the maintenance light. This is for the fourth generation of Prius. Okay, so the first thing that you need to do is:
Press twice the power button without stepping on the brake
From the main menu use the directional pad on the steering wheel to navigate through the menu items to the right until you get to the ⚙️ settings option
Once you’re in the settings menu you can adjust multiple things but for this, we’re going to go to Vehicle Settings
Click OK on the Vehicle Settings to enter the menu
After that, we’re gonna select the option for Maintenance System
Highlight the Oil Maintenance and press ok to enter
It’ll ask us if we want to reset the oil maintenance. So we’re gonna select YES and then your maintenance light has been reset
This section will show you how to reset the maintenance required light on the 2018 PRIUS C, and I believe 2019 has the same procedure. So let’s get to work.
Like the previous generation, in the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime, you can reset the oil maintenance light using the button on the steering wheel. So, let me guide you through the procedure.
For your info, this operation work for the fourth generation of the Toyota Prius Prime or Prius C (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 model years). For the old models, you can find them here.

This year’s Toyota Prius is equipped with a 0w-16 oil type with 4.4 quarts of oil capacity. To keep the engine running smoothly, it is recommended to use high-quality oil.
After every 5,000 to 10,000 miles, you should get your oil changed. Depending on how you drive, this may vary somewhat.
It is recommended that you replace your air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles.
You can choose SAE J1703 brake fluid or FMVSS No.116 DOT 3 brake fluid. However, if you can’t find either of these fluids on the market, you may still use any DOT 3 brake fluid from one of the leading manufacturers.
Toyota Super Long Life Coolant is the coolant of choice for the Toyota Prius. The coolant should be replaced every 60,000 miles or so.
To be safe, it’s recommended that you change your spark plugs every 100,000 miles unless they’re made of copper. Every 30,000 miles, a cooper spark plug must be changed.

My oil needs to be changed every 10K miles. Maintenance light came on at the 5K point. I ignored it for a couple of thousand miles. If I reset it now, will it reset fo 5K more miles?
On the 2020 Prius, you turn on the hybrid system, select the "gear" icon, and the you can reset the maintance indicator.
