Chrysler 300: How To Open Fuel / Gas Tank Cap (2005-2021) – The Chrysler 300 is a model of the American car brand Chrysler. The 300 is a luxurious, sporty, rear-wheel-drive sedan built on the Chrysler LX platform.

The Chrysler 300 with the highest trim level and V8 engine is called the 300C in the United States. For Europe, it was decided to give all cars the exterior and interior of the 300C, which is why the car (at least in Europe) is only available as 300C.

Many people who rent or own this vehicle for the first time are confused about opening the gas cap. In this post, we want to share how to open the gas tank cap on the Chrysler 300. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to do it:

2005-2010 Model Years

It’s straightforward to open the gas tank cap on the Chrysler 300 (2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010) because there are no buttons or levers to open it in the vehicle. Simply push the left side of the fuel filler door. It will pop open and allowing you to refuel the car.

2011-2021 Model Years

Unlike the previous model, this new model is equipped with a button to open the fuel cap.

  • Press the Gas Tank Cap release button
The button located on the driver’s door in the lower left-hand area
  • Open the Gas Tank Cap on the left side of the vehicle

Emergency Gas Tank Cap Release

Time needed: 1 minute

This new model is also equipped with a fuel cap release emergency contained in the luggage. You can use it if you can’t open the fuel filler door. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the trunk door

    The trunk door can be opened using the TRUNK RELEASE button located on the instrument panel or you can also use the button on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.

  2. Remove the access cover

    located on the left side inner trim panel

  3. Pull the release cable

    Done!
