What’s up, Mopar fam! There were many people that we were asking about doing your oil change and reset the oil light. So in today’s post, I’m going to show you guys how to reset the oil life light on a Chrysler 300 after an oil change.

It’s really easy to change the oil and reset the system on this car. It’s a great do-it-yourself job if you want to save a little money and save a little time and avoid going to the workshop or wherever you go to change your oil. So let’s start the reset procedure.

How To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On Chrysler 300 (2016-2023)

For your info, this operation work for the second generation of the Chrysler 300 (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years).

With Steering Button

Time needed: 3 minutes

In this post, we will show how to reset the oil life indicator on your Chrysler 300. We’re going to use the menu on the center display stack and the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. So let me do that right now.

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine

    So the first thing we’re doing is getting the car and then we’re gonna hit the START button twice without the foot on the brake

  2. Go to the VEHICLE INFO

    Then we’re gonna scroll down which first one comes the speedometer and the next one’s gonna bring us to the Vehicle Info

  3. Find the OIL LIFE

    After that, we’re gonna scroll over to the right five times and we’ll get to the Oil Life

  4. Hold down the OK button

    To reset it we’re going to push and hold OK so then your oil life is set to 100%

With Gas Pedal

The oil life system can also be reset as follows:

  • First, get into the vehicle and you turn the key to the run position without starting the car
  • To reset it you need to step on the GAS pedal three times within 10 seconds to the floor
  • Now you can turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
