This method also works on a lot of other Chevy GM vehicles so you can try it out. It’s really easy, so you gonna have to turn the key on and then step on the GAS pedal three times. After this, you can start the engine to confirm that everything is done.
Time needed: 3 minutes
To do this operation, you will use the arrows button on the steering wheel to navigate throughout the menu system, and the menu will show up on the cluster screen. So let’s get started.
If your vehicle has an ignition button, hold down the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds without stepping on the brake pedal
Use the navigation buttons on the right of the steering wheel to highlight the VEHICLE menu item
Use the ▲ or ▼ button to scroll over through the menu until you get the Oil Life screen
Now to reset press and hold the ✓ checkmark button on the right of the steering wheel. A single quick press here will not reset the oil life
After that, use the navigation buttons to select YES and hit ✓ to confirm the oil life reset
For your info, this operation work for the third generation of the Chevrolet Equinox (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years). For the older model, you can reach it here.
The Chevrolet Equinox needs regular maintenance to maintain its performance and safety. You should schedule frequent oil changes and services at specific mileage intervals. You should also check the belts of the accessories and inspect the rear axle fluid if your car is equipped with an all-wheel drive. Your Chevy Equinox may also require more frequent oil changes if you drive it in harsh conditions. You can consult your owner’s manual to find out how often you should have your vehicle serviced.
Most recommended maintenance involves changing or flushing vehicle fluids. Fluids are crucial for the proper functioning of vehicle components and prevent malfunctions. When fluids become contaminated or filled with debris, they may no longer work properly. By completing regular fluid exchanges, you can avoid future car problems and ensure that your vehicle keeps working correctly.
Every 30,000 miles, your Chevy Equinox will need a full service. A mechanic will change the oil and the cabin air filter and perform a multi-point visual inspection. They will also check the brakes and the transmission fluid. Other routine maintenance includes replacing a fuel filter and cleaning the cabin air filter. You can expect the Chevy Equinox to require a maintenance service every 30,000 miles, but you can skip it if you’d like.
Synthetic oil is the recommended lubricant for the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. SAE 0W-20 is the oil of choice for the 1.5L 4-cylinder engine. Regarding capacity, the AWD model has 5.3 quarts, while the FWD variant has 4.2 quarts. The 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine performs best with 5W-30 and has an oil capacity of 5.3 quarts. The 2.0L 4-cylinder uses 5W-30 as well. However, it only has a 5-quart oil capacity for FWD and 6 quarts for the AWD model.
The P15a1 error code indicates a malfunctioning fuel economy switch for the Chevy Equinox. This is probably a blown a fuse. If you’re having trouble finding the fuse box, search for a small seam or crack along the dash to the left of the steering wheel.
LIMP MODE is another term for this. This signifies that your Chevy Equinox’s ECU or engine management sensors are malfunctioning.
This implies that the battery only powers your car. Due to a failing alternator, a “save mode” has been activated to keep the car from shutting down at this time. You may have a faulty alternator or an electrical issue that prevents your alternator from adequately charging your battery.
The Chevrolet Equinox is predicted to endure at least ten years with proper care and maintenance. However, some of them, particularly the more recent models, are likely to last well into their twenties if adequately cared for.
So there you go, as simply have you guys enjoyed it. I hope this Chevy Equinox Oil Life guide was helpful for you guys.
