Hey guys, in this post, I will show you how to reset the maintenance or service light on an Isuzu D-max. So this is a 2017 model, and basically, it’s a little bit different from the newer model. But we will show you how to do both.
So when maintenance service is due, you’ll see a service minder light on your dash. You need to reset the maintenance minder information display after performing the service or change the engine oil on your vehicle. So let’s check this out.

2012-2019 Isuzu D-Max Service Light Reset Procedure
Time needed: 3 minutes
This section will show you how to reset the service interval on your Isuzu D-max. This is a 1.9 2017 model, but as long as you’ve got that dash, this should all be the same. We will be using the INFO buttons on the end of the wiper stalks to do this.
- Turn on the car without starting the engine
We’re not going to be starting the vehicle up. So if the vehicle has an ignition button, with your foot off of the brake or clutch pedal push the START button. But if you have a key ignition you can rotate the key until you get to accessory mode
- Go to SELECT MODE
Then we’re going to start by going from the menu through the INFO buttons on the end of the wiper lever so we get to Select Mode
- Hold down the INFO button
If you are already on that screen, press and hold the INFO button for several seconds to take you into the submenu
- Scroll and select the SERVICE
After that, as you can see you’ve got an up and down arrow that correlates to the INFO button so we’re to go down to SERVICE and then hold down the INFO button to enter the menu
- Select ENGINE OIL or MAINTENANCE
Select the service item you want to reset (i.e. ENGINE OIL or MAINTENANCE). This menu lets you set a reminder at a specific interval
- Select END to exit settings
If you have finished setting the date and distance of the reminder, select END to exit, and you’re done
How To Reset in 2020-2023 Isuzu D-Max
On the new 2020 Isuzu D-Max, the instrument panel now features a 4.2-inch multi-information color display on all models. You can access a wide range of driving information by using the right-hand steering wheel controls. So let’s do it now.
- Close all doors and turn on your car
- Now you’re gonna be using left and right to scroll through the menu and find the ⚙️ SETTINGS
- Press the ⚈ button as the enter button or select the item
- Go to the MAINTENANCE SETTINGS
- Select ENGINE OIL
- From here you can specify the number of interval distances you want
- If you have finished, select END to exit, and you’re done
For your info, this operation work for the first and second generations of the Isuzu D-Max (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years).
Isuzu D-Max Oil Maintenance Reminder
The quality of the engine oil plays a significant role in the efficiency and lifetime of the engine. Always stick to the manufacturer-recommended oil and oil filter. By the Maintenance Schedule, the engine oil level should be checked, and the oil and oil filter should be replaced at the same time. If your car’s engine oil degradation indicator light turns on, you should change the oil and filter immediately.
When the power mode is set to ON, the MID will display maintenance reminders if the vehicle is about to travel a distance more than the user-defined threshold. Engine oil change reminders are preprogrammed in a factory setting. The manufacturer predetermines engine oil service intervals every 10,000 kilometers (6,000 miles).

Choose an oil whose grade corresponds to the one shown in the table below and whose viscosity is ideal for the temperatures you typically drive. You should only use authentic Isuzu lubricants or ones the manufacturer specifies. Inspect the oils and replenish them as directed by your vehicle’s Maintenance Schedule. The 2020 Isuzu D-Max with a 1.9L RZ4E engine uses 6.6 liters of engine oil.
The SAE 5W-30 engine oil that comes pre-filled in the new Isuzu D-Max is ideal for low-temperature starts and reducing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
A 2021 Isuzu D-Max equipped with Automatic transmission will have a total fluid capacity of 7.9 liters, while the manual transmission requires 2.8 liters of transmission fluid.
Isuzu recommends Besco Transaxle 5W-30 for lubrication in the manual transmission and Isuzu ATF WSI for the automatic transmission.

Hello, I am having problems with my headlights, on my Isuzu D Max utah 2013 model, not able to switch them off? Any suggestions? ATM am having to disconnect the battery.
I have a 2018 Dmax but I don’t have the buttons on the end of the wiper or blinker stalk and have no idea how to reset the service light. Are you able to help? My dash is the LCD type.
