2014-2019 Nissan Versa Note Wrench/Oil Service Light Reset Guide

Hey there! How’s life? So we’re working on a 2015 Nissan Versa Note, and today we’re going to do the wrench or oil service light reset. I’m trying to do this how-to content because there’s nowhere in a manual or a book that tells you how to do that. So I hope these posts are helping everybody.

Usually, when you turn on the ignition key on the right-hand side here in this display, it’ll give you how many miles you have left until the service is due. But if you’ve let that complete elapse, and it’s just that the spanner and the zero flashing. So let’s get started on this job.

2014-2019 Nissan Versa Note Wrench/Oil Service Light Reset Guide

Time needed: 3 minutes

In this section, we’re going to do an oil light reset on a Nissan Versa Note. This operation also applies for the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 model years since they’re pretty much the same engine. So the way you do this is:

Turn on the ignition
First, put on the key and you’ll have the wrench and the mileage shown upon the dash
Press and hold the TRIP button
So long while it’s showing, you will hold the TRIP button for a few seconds and it’ll start to flash
Next, press the TRIP button briefly to increase the interval distance
To set the interval you need to hit the TRIP button and every time you press it, it’ll increment of 500 and I want to set it at 7,000
Shut off the ignition
Once you are done with that, you simply shut off the ignition so the wrench is gone and you’ve got your new interval

So that’s the maintenance reminder in the Nissan Versa Note and probably other Nissan with a similar instrument cluster. It can be a bit trickier if you have let it go past its last mileage. My mechanic never reset it last time and now it doesn’t go away with the above procedure. Can you help?
