2013-2019 Ford C-MAX Hybrid Engine Oil Change Light Reset Guide
|Last Updated on December 31, 2021 by Nick
Yo! Wassup, everybody. Today I’m working on a Ford C-MAX Hybrid, and we just changed the oil in it. So now I’m going to show you guys how to do the oil change light reset on this Ford C-MAX.
I’ll have to do another content for maybe in the future if my vehicle starts to need any of that sort of work. I hope you made it all the way to the end of the content. So let’s crack on and get into the procedure.
2013-2019 Ford C-MAX Hybrid Engine Oil Change Light Reset Guide
Time needed: 3 minutes
Alright, we have the 2019 Ford C-MAX, and I’ve already reset this one, but I’ll show you what to do for demonstration purposes. So let’s go inside and see what it takes to reset, though.
- Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the START/STOP button once without stepping on any pedal
- Depress the ACCELERATOR and BRAKE pedals simultaneously
Then you want to put your foot on the Accelerator and Brake pedals and hold it down together so you’ll see reset in progress on the dash
- Continue holding both pedals
Keep your foot down on both of them pedals for about 30 seconds or so up until that changes and it says reset successfully
- Release the pedals
Once it does, you can take your foot off now and then start the car to confirm that everything is done
So that’s all there is to reset the oil light on your C-MAX (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 model years). If you guys have any questions or want to see any other tutorial post, please leave me a message in the comments down here, and I’ll be glad to answer it. So thanks for your time and happy holiday.
Thank you, I took my cmax in to get an oil change and the “TECH” did not know how to reset the message light. He fooled with it for 20 minutes and said I’d have to take it to the dealer. No more oil changes from that Company.
My oil change reminder showed up AFTER my oil change (the technician must not have reset it), so I have to reset it myself. Thanks for the info. Very helpful!
