A fabulous good day and a warm welcome to a new post. We want to take a look at the Mercedes A-Class W176 (A200), where we have done many service things, and now we want to reset the service light.
There are different ways to reset the service. We can, of course, do this with this key combination, but you can also do it with the diagnosis tool. So let me show you how it works now, and this is very important if you want to reset the service interval.
Table of Contents
Time needed: 3 minutes
This section will show you how I reset my Mercedes A200 W176 using the buttons on the steering wheel and the screen on the dash. So let’s go ahead now and try it for ourselves.
With your foot don’t press the brake just press the push START button two times
Then it is very important to make the dash display shows the Milage screen. If you’re not on that screen, use the ▲or▼ button to take you through to the trip mileage screen
Then you need to hold down the CALL button first and then push the OK for about four seconds to access the service menu
Once you are done with that the VEHICLE DATA menu should come up. All you need to use after that is just your arrow keys up and down and okay to acknowledge. So going down to ASSYST PLUS and pushing OK
Go to FULL SERVICE to bring you up these service volumes
Next, you need to go down to the bottom to CONFIRM FULL SERVICE
Highlight the appropriate OIL GRADE being used and then press OK
Select YES to confirm the oil grade
Finally, select CONFIRM, and the full service complete
For your info, this operation work for the third generation of the Mercedes Benz A-Class W176 (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 model years).
When you drive a Mercedes-Benz, you’ll get a message to schedule an oil change or other maintenance service. The system uses algorithms and sensors to keep track of components in your vehicle and show you when these services are due. The system also alerts you when you’re nearing a service threshold, such as one month.
Oil change reminder systems have been available for many years. Some are based on the number of engine revolutions or mileage driven. Mileage-based systems estimate the life of an oil change based on the miles you’ve operated since the last service and turn on a reminder light when it’s time to perform that service. Mileage-based systems are an excellent reminder for some owners, but they can be ineffective in some circumstances.
Another type of maintenance reminder system is based on a system of calendars and data from your vehicle. These systems log information about your vehicles, such as oil and coolant temperature and how many hours it has been driven. Mercedes-Benz vehicles that were manufactured before 2009 use a software-based system, which uses a list of services from A to H. These systems can be reset using a combination of the ignition switch and the reset button on your dashboard.
Another maintenance reminder system for your Mercedes is based on mileage. The system automatically schedules your Mercedes’ maintenance visits. However, it is essential to remember that your car’s service schedule is based on a combination of factors, including your driving habits, road conditions, and other factors. If you’re not careful with your vehicle’s maintenance, it could lead to expensive issues. So it’s essential to follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule to keep your Mercedes in top condition.
The mileage-based maintenance reminder system is an essential part of Mercedes-Benz vehicle maintenance. The mileage-based maintenance reminder system will tell you when to change the oil by monitoring engine vitals. Whether your Mercedes-Benz needs a full synthetic oil change or basic cleaning, this system will help you make the right decision.
It is suggested that SAE 5W-30 synthetic oil be used in a Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
The engine oil capacity of a Mercedes-Benz A-Class is 6.1 quarts.
So all done got the service reset wrapped up. Hopefully, that was helpful for you guys. I know I’m not a professional mechanic; I know you’re surprised by that, but we still got a job done, and that’s the important thing. So thank you very much for stopping by, and good luck.
