What’s going on, everybody? I hope you’re having a fantastic day. Well, it’s another day of working on the wife’s car; she needs an oil change, and I’m a pretty decent garage oil changed guy, and I’m pretty good at not getting oil on the ground. So I’ve done it, and now we want to reset the oil life or service light on this Chevy Captiva.
Well, her Captiva is a lot different story because, for some reason, they engineered things where the oil drips on parts, and it just scatters. So it sounds complicated, but it’s not super hard, it is doable, and I’m going to show you how to do it.

For your info, this operation work for the first generation of the Chevy Captiva (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 model years).
Time needed: 3 minutes
This section will show you how to reset this service light on a Chevrolet Captiva. There’s done through the buttons on the instrument panel. So let’s go ahead and get started.
Put the key in the ignition and turn the key on
Then we’re gonna use the info button down here to go through the Oil Life screen
Once you’re on that screen, we’re gonna hold down the checkmark button till it changes to 100%
Once it does, you can turn it off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
