2008-2015 Toyota Land Cruiser J200 T-belt Light Reset Guide

Howdy, Toyota fam! How are ya? Today I’m going to show you how to reset the t-belt or timing belt light on Toyota Land Cruiser J200. This light is coming up every 150,000 kilometers on the dash. So now I’m just going to run you through the procedure.

If you get that light and you change your T-belt, you’re supposed to reset that light, and then that light will come back on after 150,000 kilometers or whatever it is that manufacturers recommended interval for timing belt changes.

2008-2015 Toyota Land Cruiser J200 T-belt Light Reset Guide

Time needed: 3 minutes

Alright, this is a 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser and I’m gonna show you how to reset the t-belt light. So now all you need to do is:

  1. Start at this stage with the ignition on

Turn the ignition key to the on position without starting the engine

  2. Go to the ODO screen

Then you press the TRIP button to cycle through and you’re going to get to the ODO reading shown

  3. Turn off the ignition

After that, we’re going to turn the ignition off

  4. Hold down the TRIP button, and turn on the ignition

Next,  we’re going to press and hold the TRIP button while turning the ignition on without starting the engine

  5. Continue to hold the TRIP button for 5 seconds

Keep the TRIP button depressed for five seconds and then release it

  6. Release the button and then press it again

Then you need to depress the button again and that comes up with a number

  7. Hold down the button again

Now you take your finger off and press the button for another 5 seconds and you’re done

For your info, this operation work for the Toyota Land Cruiser J200 but I think this will works for the other model as well (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 model years).

So that’s how the timing belt light reset. I hope the content helped. If it did, don’t forget to share it with your friend. If you have any questions about the service, don’t hesitate to comment below. So thanks for your time and we’ll see you next time.
