How To Reset Oil Change Required Light in Ford Explorer

Okay, so it can be a bit tricky on these Ford Explorers to do it if you’ve never done it. So basically, all you will need to use is the SELECT/RESET button on the instrument cluster, which serves as both a select button and a reset button. So the first thing we do is:
- Get in the car and turn the key to the on position
Do not start the engine!
- Go to the SETUP MENU HOLD RESET screen
Push the SELECT/RESET button on the instrument cluster till we get to the SETUP MENU HOLD RESET menu
- Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button
Now I’m going to push and hold the button to reach the setup menu
- Enter the RESET FOR SYSTEM CHECK menu
Okay now I’m going to hold down the SELECT/RESET button again to enter the menu
- Scroll to OIL LIFE
Then push the button a couple more times just to get to the oil life
- Hold down the SELECT/RESET button
Once you’re on the Oil Life screen, press and hold the SELECT/RESET button until “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” displays
- Restart the car
Finally, shut the vehicle off and then start it back up and check the oil change light should be gone
