2012-2019 VW Volkswagen Beetle Oil Service/Inspection Light Reset (A5)

Hey, what’s up, you all. Today, I will show you how to reset the oil service and inspection light on the Volkswagen Beetle. So the first thing you might notice when you turn the vehicle on it says inspect with the bit of wrench thing. So I’ll show you right now how to get that to go away.
The service light is what most people would refer to as a dummy light. It’s going to notify you every 10,000 miles that you’re supposed to change your oil. For this to be effective, you will have to make sure that you reset the service interval light every time you change your engine oil.

Volkswagen Beetle A5 Oil Service/Inspection Light Reset Guide
For your info, this operation work for the VW Volkswagen Beetle A5 (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 model years).
Oil Service Reset
VW Beetle Basic Display
- Start with turn off the car
- Now you’re going to want to push te 0.0/SET button and hold it and then switch the ignition on
- Once that comes up release the 0.0 button and then hit the ❏ square button on the left
- Now it should be reset and you can restart your car
VW Beetle Premium Display
Time needed: 3 minutes
This section will show you how to reset the service light on this VW Beetle by using the cluster button and steering controls.
- Turn the ignition off
Make sure the vehicle is completely stopped
- Press and hold the 00/SET button while turn on the car
Then hold down the 0.0/SET button on the dash and then you need to hit the start ignition switch to turn it on
- Press the OK button
After that, it’s gonna say do you really want to reset the oil service? Press the OK button in the windshield wiper lever or on the steering wheel to confirm
With Steering Button (2012-2013)
For the 2012 or 2013 model, it has a special interface built-in which makes resetting the service life easier.
- Turn on the ignition but don’t start the car
- Then you press the ◄or► navigation button on the steering wheel until you find the SETTINGS mode
- Once you find the Setting mode then you wanna scroll down to the SERVICE
- Then press the OK button to get in
- Then go ahead and you wanna to go to RESET
- After that, it will ask you do you really want to reset the service? And you click OK to confirm
Inspection Light Reset
If you want to reset the inspection light it’s almost the same procedure as the oil service but a little bit different
VW Beetle Basic Display
- So the first thing you do is before you put the key in the ignition you need to hit the flashers turn on
- Next step put the ignition on while hold down the 0.0/SET button
- Then within 10 seconds press the ❏ button on the left to reset
- Finally, turn off the flashers and you’re good to go
VW Beetle Premium Display
- With the igniton off put your hazards button on
- Press and hold the 00/SET button as you turn on the ignition
- Now it will reads do you really want to reset inspection? We’ve already reset both of these so once again press the OK button on the steering wheel to confirm
- Now you can turn off the hazards and you’re done
