2016-2022 Fiat 500X Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide
|Last Updated on December 16, 2021 by Nick
Hi everyone! Today I’m going to teach you how to reset the oil change light on your Fiat 500X after you are done with your service. This way, you don’t have to go to the dealership and don’t need any tools.
I’ve dealt with European cars all day long, you know. So and this is another European car, and it’s straightforward actually to do it. Just do this at home in the comfort of your own home, so you guys don’t have to be ripped off by the dealership or dishonest mechanic anyway. So let’s get rolling on this.
2016-2022 Fiat 500X Oil Change/Service Light Reset Guide
Time needed: 3 minutes
When the oil change is done, before we let this call go, we have to go inside and reset the oil service reminder light. So the way you reset it on this Fiat 500X is:
- Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
First, you’re going to get in the car and without depressing the brake pedal you want to press the START button
- Step on the GAS pedal 3 times
As soon as you see everything come on you push the GAS pedal three times within 10 seconds of pushing the ignition button and that will reset your oil life indicator
- Start the car
Once you are done with that, turn the key off and then you can start the car so there should be no oil to change message and you’re done
So that’s how you reset on this car (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 model years). Now we’re all good, so as you can see, resetting the oil light on a Fiat 500X is pretty straightforward. I hope you found this post helpful and informative. If it was, please like share, and your comments are always welcome. Thanks for checking it out, and have a great time.
There is no key for the 2016 500X it’s a key fob – so how do you reset the change oil light??
Hi Nick
Thanks for your knowledge on resetting oil light. If I was to buy a plug in scanner to reset all troublesome codes e.g. flat tire light on (but no flat tire!!!) etc, could you suggest some good units?
I am not worried about the price. Just want a good code reader that you can use to reset things.
Many Thanks
Bernie
