TPMS Reset: BMW X5 Low Tire Pressure Monitor Light (E70 F15 G05) – The BMW X5 is a luxurious SUV, designed by Chris Bangle’s team and produced by the German car manufacturer BMW. There are now four generations: the E53, the E70, the F15, and the G05.

The X5 has been in production since 1999. The more compact BMW X3 was also introduced in 2004. The BMW X5 Plug-in-Hybrid (PHEV) was introduced in 2015.

TPMS Reset: BMW X5 Low Tire Pressure Monitor Light (E70 F15 G05)

Each time a tire pressure has been adjusted or change the tire, you need to reset the Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS). Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the TPMS on 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 BMW X5:

2011-2018 Models (E70 F15 F85)

Time needed: 7 minutes

In the old generation of the BMW X5 (xDrive50i, xDrive30d, M50d, xDrive40d, xDrive35i, xDrive25d, sDrive25d), you can reset tire pressure via iDrive. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Stop the vehicle

    Turn off the engine and shift to neutral position or P position

  2. Adjust the cold tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

  3. Press MENU button to enter the main menu

    The button located on the center console

  4. Go to the VEHICLE INFO

    Use the dial navigation button to scroll the menu

  5. Select VEHICLE STATUS

    Some menus will appear on the screen

  6. Select Tire RESET

    A confirmation message will appear

  7. Starting the engine

    Put the key into the ignition slot, depress the brake pedal, and then press the START/STOP ENGINE button

  8. Select PERFORM RESET to execute the tire pressure reset

    You can choose cancel to cancel it

  9. Drive the car

    The system reset is completed while the car is on the move

2019-2021 Models (G05)

Just like the previous generation, you can access the tire pressure menu to reset the TPMS via iDrive on the xDrive40i, xDrive45e model. Here’s how to do it:

  • Make sure to adjust the tire pressure recommended on the tire placard
  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Press the HOME button to enter the main menu
  • Go to the CAR by using the iDrive controller
  • Select VEHICLE STATUS
  • Select FLAT TIRE MONITOR
  • Start the engine but don’t drive your car
  • Select PERFORM RESET to start the initialization
  • Drive the car

The TPMS calibration process will complete during driving. It will finish automatically.

This procedure should apply to the second, third, and fourth generations of BMW X5 (2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 model years).
