TPMS Reset: Audi A3 S3 Tire Pressure Monitor System Light (2008-2021) – The Audi A3 is a compact mid-range car model from the German car brand Audi. The A3 uses the Golf platform that the Audi TT also uses.
The second generation of the A3 appeared in 2003 and was designed by Walter DeSilva. The A3 was available for the first time with the DSG transmission, which is called S-Tronic in current models. A six-cylinder engine powered the Audi A3.

You have to reset the specified pressures whenever you adjust tire pressures, change a tire, or get it rotated in order for the TPMS to operate appropriately. Depending on your vehicle model year, here are a few ways to reset the TPMS on Audi A3 S3:
2008-2012 Models
There are 2 ways to reset TPMS on the second generation of the Audi A3 S3. Both have different ways. Please choose 1 of the three ways below according to your vehicle specifications.
With TPMS Button
For vehicles made in 2008 2009 2010, you can reset tire pressure using the TPMS Set button. Here’s how to do it:
- Make sure you have adjusted the tire pressure recommended on the tire placard
- Turn ON the ignition without starting the engine
- Press the TPMS SET button until you hear a beep and the TPMS indicator blinks three times
With Cluster Display
Follow these steps for the 2011 2012 Audi A3 S3 which equipped with an information display with control on the wiper lever:
- Make sure you have adjusted the tire pressure recommended on the tire placard
- Turn ON the ignition without starting the engine
- Press the RESET button repeatedly until DISPLAY TYPE appears on the screen
- Use the rocker button to highlight the SET menu
- Press the RESET button to enter the menu
- Select TIRE PRESSURE
- Select STORE NOW
- Select CONFIRM to execute the TPMS reset
2013-2020 Models
There are 2 ways to reset TPMS on the third generation of the Audi A3 S3. Both through the multimedia (MMI) displays. Please choose 1 of the three ways below according to your vehicle specifications.
With MMI Display 1
Time needed: 7 minutes
Unlike previous generations, in this third generation, you can reset the TPMS via the MMI display. Proceed as follows :
- Turn ignition switch to ON position but do not start the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the START-STOP ENGINE button once without touching the brake pedal.
- Press the MENU button on the MMI controls to access the main menu
The button is located on the center console
- Go to CAR or VEHICLE menu
Use the MMI control button to scroll and select the menu
- Select SYSTEM
Press the left control button to access this menu
- Select “SERVICE & CHECKS”
Use the MMI control button to enter the menu
- Scroll down and select “TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING”
A message will appears on the display
- Select STORE TIRE PRESSURE
A confirmation message will appears on the screen
- Select YES to execute the TPMS reset

With MMI Display 2
- Make sure you have adjusted the tire pressure recommended on the tire placard
- Turn ON the ignition without starting the engine
- Press the MENU button on the center console
- Go to the CAR or VEHICLE menu by using the dial button
- Find and select SERVICE & CHECKS by using the left control button
- Select TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING
- Select STORE TIRE PRESSURE
- Select YES to execute the TPMS reset
2021-2022 Models
Just like the previous model, you can reset the TPMS via the infotainment display, but this latest model (2021 2022) uses a touchscreen. Here’s how to do it:
- Make sure you have adjusted the tire pressure recommended on the tire placard
- Turn ignition switch to ON position but do not start the engine
- From the Home screen, tap the VEHICLE or CAR menu on the MMI display
- Select SETTINGS & SERVICE
- Select TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING
- Select STORE TIRE PRESSURE
- Select YES to execute the TPMS reset
