For your info, this operation work for the first and second generations of the Acura TSX (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 model years).
Your vehicle features a maintenance minder to help you keep your vehicle in optimum running condition. The maintenance minder system informs you when your vehicle needs service based on how the car is driven. In addition, Acura Link can display reminders of dealer service appointments scheduled via my Acura website. It can also provide more detailed information concerning the services required.
The maintenance minder system relies on numerous sensors that analyze the vehicle’s driving conditions. To determine when an oil change is recommended, engine oil change notices appear in sync with your driving habits and needs. For example, if you find yourself in stop-and-go traffic, the system might suggest more frequent oil changes than if you log most of your miles at freeway cruising speeds.
Other maintenance items are tracked strictly on a mileage basis. The maintenance minder monitors the miles between changes of the air filter, transmission fluid, spark plugs, and coolant, as well as tire rotations and fluids required for the super handling all-wheel drive system. This system uses maintenance codes that correspond to the monitored items. For example, an icon of a wrench next to the letter A advises that an oil change is required. The meaning of the various maintenance minder codes is detailed below.
Premium conventional detergent oil of the precise viscosity specified by the owner’s handbook is the best choice for most TSX models. The grade of viscosity that’s suggested for your vehicle is dependent on its model year. In general, use 5W-30 in your car if it was manufactured between 2004 to 2008. SAE 5W-20 is recommended for the 2009 and 2010 Acura TSX, while 0W-20 is acceptable for the 2011-2014 models.
There is some variation in oil capacity across years and engine configurations of the Acura TSX. Capacity is 4.4 quarts for all 2008 and earlier TSX cars. While for all 2009 and later versions, you’ll need 4.2 quarts in 4-cylinder engines and 4.5 quarts in 6-cylinder engines.
