How To Reset Buick Rainier Change Engine Oil Minder Light (2004-2007) – The Buick Rainier is a medium-sized vehicle manufactured by General Motors and sold under the Buick brand. The Rainier is the replacement of the Oldsmobile Bravada, the first car made by the body-on-frame technique with a V8 engine from the 1996 Buick Roadmaster. Both the Buick Rendezvous and the Rainier will be replaced by the Buick Enclave. The Rainier uses the GMT360 chassis that shares with the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and the GMC Envoy.
Mechanically, it is offered with a single mechanical, the 4.2L Atlas of 6 cylinders in line that surrenders of 270 cv and 5.3L Vortec 5300 V8 of 302 cvs. The transmission is automatic with 4 speeds with over-gauge (overdrive). You can choose, with full traction or rear drive (propulsion). When the remaining oil life is low, the Change Oil Soon message will appear on the display. The Oil Life display must be reset after each oil change. Follow the instructions below to reset the engine oil life system on your Buick Rainier:
- Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position
Don’t start the engine!
- Fully press and release the accelerator pedal to the floor slowly 3 times within five seconds
If the CHANGE OIL SOON light blinks, the system is resetting
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
