Resetting Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera

To accompany the Olympus OM-D E-M5 in class premium mirrorless cameras, Olympus recently announced the Olympus OM-D E-M1 which brings a series of new features with the decent performance aligned with the upper-class digital SLR camera. Olympus OM-D E-M1 at first glance still looks similar to the Olympus OM-D E-M5. The body is anti-dust and water splashes while maintaining the classic style design with a large hand grip like a DSLR camera.

Olympus E-M1 is equipped with a 4/3 CMOS sensor 16.3 megapixel resolution, and TruePICVII processor, which has been equipped with Fine Detail Processing II technology. With the collaboration of this new sensor and processor, the E-M1 is claimed to be able to suppress noise and maintain color accuracy at high ISO settings up to ISO 25600. A further enhancement can be found in the focus sectors. OM-D E-M1 is now using the latest faster focus system, the Dual Fast AF System. The focus system combines the contrast AF 81-point system, and On-chip 37-point Phase Detection. Besides the performance of focus becomes faster, the OM-D E-M1 is now also compatible with all of Zuiko and M.Zuiko lenses.

In addition, the use of the TruePic VII processor allows the OM-D E-M1 for shooting fast action. With a maximum speed of 1/8000 shutter camera, this camera is capable of continuous shooting at a speed of 6.5 frames per second with a continuos autofocus mode (C-AF) or 10 frames per second with a single autofocus mode (S-AF). For video recording capabilities, the OM-D E-M1 can produce Full HD video at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels (30 fps) and has had a vibration damper features: 5-Axis Image Stabilization with Multi-Motion IS mechanism that is optimal for maintaining sharpness the images caused by hand shake users.

To facilitate users to snap, OMD-EM1 is equipped with an electronic viewfinder 2:36 megapixel resolution. Better than the OM-D EM-5 is only 1:44 megapixels. Users also can connect a smartphone or tablet PC to control the OMD-EM1 remotely via Wi-Fi connection. Just like the EM-5, E-M1 remain present with Art Filters, to be creative with some new effects options. Like for example, the New Diorama II, HDR photo effects in two-choice option ‘HDR1 and HDR2’, Photo Story, and Time lapse.

Factory Reset:

To restoring Olympus OM-D E-M1 to it’s factory settings, conform to the following instructions:

  1. Turn on your Olympus OM-D E-M1
  2. Press [MENU] button
  3. Select “Reset/Myset” in Shooting Menu 1
  4. Highlight “Reset” and then press >
  5. Select “Full” and press OK

This operation will cause the settings you made will be lost, but does not reset your time, date, and language settings. Do not use this function unless you are certain that you want to do this.
