Hey everyone! Nick here, and I’m excited because today we’re going to show you how to reset the Maint Reqd or maintenance light on your Scion xD.
By the way, the vehicles that take synthetic oil, every 5k, they have a tire rotation and a full inspection an entire look over, and the 10k service is when you actually do the oil change. So once the oil change did, we needed to reset the engine oil trip counter.
Time needed: 3 minutes
This is the procedure to reset the maintenance required light on the Scion xD 2009. I’m excited to show you guys how to do this, so let’s get started.
Take the key and turn it to the on position without cranking up the engine
There is a little button on the dash that says MODE and we’re going to be using that mode button to change this to TRIP A
Now when you get there you go ahead and turn off your car
Then push and hold down this MODE button continually while you turn the ignition switch back on without starting the engine
Keep hold it until you see the blinkers running and you hear it beeped five times so this is all it takes
So that’s how you reset on this car (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 model years). When you restart the vehicle, you’ll have a clear screen and no longer say maintenance required. I hope this content helped out somebody else because I wish I had put this in beforehand. Thanks for tuning in, and see you later.
