How To Reset Ford Freestar Oil Life Light (2004-2007) – The Ford Freestar is a minivan motor vehicle of the American manufacturer Ford launched in 2003 to replace the Windstar. But following sales figures that were judged mediocre, its production was stopped prematurely. The last model left the assembly line in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, August 25, 2006. The Freestar was equivalent to Mercury, sold under the name Monterey.
The Ford Freestar uses the platform of the Windstar, called V platform, which was created to minivans Ford group. The Freestar received two gasoline engines: V6 3.9L 193 hp V6 4.2L 201 hp. Both engines use an automatic 4-speed. The 3.9L V6 was only sold in the United States. The Freestar has been replaced in 2008 with the arrival of the Ford Flex, based on the Fairlane concept car presented in 2005.
How To Reset Ford Freestar Oil Life Light (2004-2007)

If the engine oil life is less than 10%, the Oil Change Required Light will appear on the display. The engine oil life interval must be reset after performed the maintenance service on your vehicle. Follow the instructions below to reset the Oil Change Required Light on your Ford Freestar:
- Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position
Don’t start the engine!
- Press the SETUP button repeatedly until you see “PRESS RESET TO SYSTEM CHECK”
The button is located on the center console
- Press the RESET button briefly until you see “OIL LIFE XX% HOLD RESET NEW”
Press the RESET button to scroll to Oil Life menu
- Press and hold the RESET button until “IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET” appears on the display
Press the RESET button for 2 seconds
- Press and hold the RESET button until “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed
It will reset your oil life monitor and turn the change oil soon reading off
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
