Resetting a Roland VK-8 Combo Organ

Roland went to great lengths to re-create the sound a feel of an real, “old-school” organ. The VK8 is Roland’s latest addition to their long-established VK series of tonewheel organ emulations. But due to the current popularity of the tonewheel sound, there are now plenty of other Hammond imitators around. The 61-note VK-8 delivers a huge range of classic organ sounds, including the virtual ToneWheel sound of the VK-77 double-decker combo organ. Compared to the VK-7, the chorus/vibrato on this model are vastly improved. But it doesn’t stop there: The VK-8 also sports rotary speaker modeling based on COSM technology, new other tones and a D Beam controller-making it the leader in combo organs.

According to several user reviews, they have praised it for the First-class Hammond sounds; Excellent chorus/vibrato and COSM effects; A novel ‘spring shock’ effect using the D-Beam; Well built, and attractive. Also, some users have complained it for the  Leslie effect lacks ‘whoompf’; Editing is a nightmare; The ‘Other Tones’ are a waste of time; Limited performance controls.

Factory Reset:

To restoring the roland VK-8 to factory settings, just simply power on while simultaneously holding the HARMONIC BAR PART (UPPER) (LOWER) (PEDAL) buttons until all of the panel indicators light. The Factory Reset procedure is complete.
