How Do I Reset Tire Pressure System TPMS Light on Toyota RAV4 (2013-2021) – The Toyota RAV4 is a car that can be classified in the compact SUV class. In 1994 the first version of the RAV4 entered the Dutch and Belgian markets. In the Netherlands, the first-generation RAV4 was sold as Toyota FunCruiser.

The fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 was shown at the 2018 New York International Auto Show. The FT-AC (Future Toyota Adventure Concept) concept car showed its global design at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show on November 30, 2017. The Toyota RAV4 XA50 is on the TNGA-K platform and is the first Toyota / Lexus SUV to be built on this platform.

Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) or also known as TPWS on Toyota cars is a system that provides a real tire pressure report to the driver. If the TPMS warning light appears on your 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 Toyota RAV4, it is necessary to reset the TPMS. Depending on the vehicle model you have, here are a few ways to reset the TPMS.

2013-2018 Models (XA40)

Time needed: 7 minutes

This is the fourth generation of the Toyota RAV4. In this generation, your vehicle will be equipped with a TPMS reset button. Follow these steps to do it:

  1. Stop the vehicle and turn off the engine

    Tire pressure reset process cannot be done while the vehicle is moving.

  2. Adjust the cold tire pressure in all four tires recommended on the tire placard

  3. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the POWER button twice without touching the brake pedal

  4. Look for the TPMS reset button and press the button until the tire pressure indicator Blinks slowly three times.

    Each model year has a different button location

  5. Wait for several minutes with the engine switch in the “ON” position, to allow the system to record each tire’s pressure, then turn the engine off.

    Done!

2019-2021 Models (XA50)

Unlike the previous model year, on this latest model, you have to enter the system menu to reset the TPMS. Follow these steps to do it:

  • Stop the vehicle and adjust the tire inflation pressure recommended on the tire placard
  • Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
  • Go to [wp-svg-icons icon=”cog-2″ wrap=”i”] menu by using the ◄ ► navigation button
  • Select the VEHICLE SETTINGS menu and then press and hold the OK button
  • Select TPWS
  • Select SET PRESSURE
  • Press and hold the OK button until the TPMS indicator blinks 3 times
  • Run and drive your car

TPMS calibration process will complete after 30 minutes driving between 25 mph (40 km/h).
