How To Reset Oil Service Light On BMW 328i 318i 320i (F30/F31/G20)

Top of the morning to ya! Wass es going on? Today’s service light reset episode, so we’re going to do the walk-through process of resetting the oil service light on a BMW 328i F30/G20. So stay tuned on here. I will show you how to do it.
You can do this operation if you take it somewhere other than the dealer and cannot reset it because they don’t know how to do it. Or, if you do your own oil changes, you can use this method to reset your service light without going back to the dealer. So let’s hop over to it.

2012-2018 BMW 328i 318i (F30/F31) Oil Light Reset

Okay, guys, today for a service, we’ve got a BMW 3 series, it’s an F30 body, a 2014 model. So we’re just we’ve just done the service on it, and we’re going to reset the service light.
- Turn on your car without starting the engine
So we’re inside the vehicle now once you have the key inside the interior you’re going to go ahead and push the START button twice without stepping on any pedal
- Hold down the RESET MILES button
There’s a button on the left side of the dash you’re going to push and hold until the display changes to the service icon
- Find the ENGINE OIL
Then just push the RESET MILES button briefly to cycle through until you get to the service light that you want to reset. If you’re wondering what each of the symbols means, they’re down here.

We’re gonna do the engine oil reset so we’re gonna push and hold the button until a reset question pops up
- Release the button and then hold it again to confirm the reset
Once perform reset comes up let go and hold it down again for a few seconds so there you’ll see the reset in progress and then that’s been done
2019-2024 BMW 320i 330i M340i (G20) Service Light Reset
This is how you reset your service light on the BMW 330i and it is similar to the BMW 320i and the M340i. So here’s how it’s done.
- First, hit the START button three times without stepping on any pedal
- Wait until Diagnostic Mode Active pops up
- Then you’ll press the BC button on the turn signal lever and hold it for a few seconds probably 10 to 15 seconds
- Once you do that you’ll see the service item that is possible to reset. You can scroll through all the menus by pressing the BC button briefly
- Because we want to reset oil then you have to find the Engine Oil
- After that, you need to hold down the BC button
- Then after that took roughly five to ten seconds RESET? will appears on the screen
- Now what you’ll do is press the BC button again and that will reset the oil light
